2023年6月25日~28日にホノルルにて開催された「2023 20th International Conference on Ubiquitous Robots (UR 2023)」に本研究室より森 雄斗さん(博士2年)が参加し、研究発表を行いました。

◆ Yuto Mori, Soichiro Yokoyama, Tomohisa Yamashita, Hidenori Kawamura, Masato Mori : Obstacle Avoidance Using Depth Imaging for Forearm-Supported Four-Wheeled Walker with Walking Assist

With the population aging rapidly, the shortage of human resources for caregiving has become a major issue, and numerous systems for solving caregiving issues have been studied. In this study, we developed a powered forearm-support walker with intelligent walking support function for safety use without a caregiver. As part of the walking support function, an obstacle avoidance function using depth images was developed, and current limitations were clarified using experiments. Obstacle avoidance against a wall surface using depth images was achieved using the evaluation values and thresholds determined in the experiments.
